150-13/14     Chairman’s Announcements and Correspondence

The Chairman welcomed Cllr John Stewart on to the Committee. He also welcomed Cllr Jean Dickinson back to the committee after a leave of absence. He informed the meeting that once Cllr Gray had returned from her trip they would be discussing the Chairman position now that Cllr Dickinson was back.

The Chairman also read aloud a letter from CBC regarding planning application 132228 – Longview, 216 Turner Road in which it explained that they had been going to recommend its approval in a meeting that had been held on the 2nd January 2014.

MCC is in support of this application however would like to make the following comments;

  • Slow drilling (Augured Piles) for extension foundation must be employed.
  • The green area opposite should not be used for builder’s parking/materials etc.
  • The safety of children playing in the area needs to be considered.
  • Noise pollution during building should be minimised.
