COL/92/1297 to allow Three Crowns Road to be utilised on a temporary basis between Monday 28th April 2014 and Friday 13th June 2014 for the delivery of materials to allow essential improvements at Colchester Station to take place. – Object
MCC object on the following grounds;
- The potential for noise pollutions due to the proposed hours of movement (10:00pm until 5:00am). There is also concern with these hours due to the street lights being switched off from 12:00am.
- The potential of damage being caused as has happened previously when the road was used for access.
- Loss of amenities for the residents of Three Crowns Road
- Lack of space for articulated or large vehicles to manoeuvre due to residents parking.
- The potential need to close Bergholt Road if attempted with the presence of Police and stewards otherwise it is not safe.
Has an alternative options been considered? Such as using the railway and trains to deliver the materials?
If permission is granted MCC would like to see a condition that in the event of damage being done to resident’s property and Three Crowns road is restored to a better standard than it was originally. And that for the duration of the works the residents are given free parking in the Railway stations car park.
