176-13/14 Have Your Say
Mrs White said she had received the document that MCC had put together regarding the problems with flooding at Mill Road and had given some copies to some other concerned residents. She said there were a few main points of concern such as the bus shelter and the crossing, which she said was like a crossing a biscuit. She said that people waiting for the bus get splashed. She said that what was said in the letter fits but these were the two items that needed to be mentioned, she asked the Chairman if he had visited the site yet and he said he hadn’t as they had had very little rain recently. Mrs White explained that even without the rain you could see the damage to the path way and the sediment.
Mrs White also raised her concerns about the segregation of the Myland neighbourhoods and said that she noted it said it had been divided by similar houses, however she could not see this other than with new builds. Adding insult to injury she had noticed another Highwoods Sign in the Myland boundaries. CO4 is clearly Myland and she was not prepared to accept the sub-neighbourhoods. She also requested to see the document given to CBC in 2008.
177-13/14 Chairman’s Announcements and Correspondence
The Chairman read out a notice from ECC regarding the 20mph zone order going in at The Myle (Appleton Mews, Chapman Place, Kirk Way, Mortimer Gardens, Roper Close and Scrivener Close) as of the 21st March 2014.
The Chairman also showed a copy of the letter sent to a resident of Mile End Road he’d previously mentioned to the Committee regarding having their foundations surveyed as of their neighbours had applied for an extension. There was some question of the ethics of this but he said he had been told it was common practice.
The Chairman then went on to give an update regarding the report on the Chesterwell application that had been brought up at the previous meeting. He said the item on the agenda had been to alert the committee about this report and then himself and Cllr Dickinson had met informally after to discuss what they felt the next course of action should be in regards to this paper. They had put together a comment to take to the CBC planning meeting on the following evening and the Chairman said that comment and his document on this would be attached to these minutes (see attachment 1). He also gave Mrs White a copy of this. The Chairman said he would also be emailing a copy to all Planning Committee Cllrs.
