Cllr Stewart declared an interest in Item 57 – Planning Application 171665 due to his role as Resident Director of the management company responsible for this property.

051-17/18     Chairman’s Announcements and Correspondence

The Chairman said an email had been received from Tracy Allen, Office Manager, Camulous Academy, raising concerns regarding dust and dirt levels identified during a recent engineer visit to service the air conditioning units.He said he had been in touch with the consortium and drafted an agreed response which if all members were happy with he would send to Ms Allen. Members were happy with the draft and the Clerk suggested copying both Ms Allen’s email and the MCC response to Essex County Council Education, possibly via our County Councillor.

056-17/18     Planning matters for review

Cllr Hewitt said that the application made by Gladman Developments for Land off Bakers Lane had gone to appeal following refusal by CBC.  He said representations had to be made by 28th August so he would draft a response and email to members for agreement.

057-17/18     Planning, Licensing & Highways Applications/Appeals – To make recommendations, including requests for Section 106 money where applicable, on applications received (Appendix 1)

171633 – Colchester General Hospital, Turner Road, Colchester CO4 5JL – Erection of a single storey extension to create a new emergency department pedestrian entrance, primary care streaming suite and a minor injury suite, together with the removal of the existing portacabin facility – Received 23rd June 2017

It was agreed to comment as follows:

The four disabled parking bays should be re-provided as indicated on drawing ref: 3768-A-0107 P04

It is noted that construction is already underway.

MCC reserves the right to comment further when the expected updated plans are received.
