On Saturday 31st October we embarked on our first (of many) Last Saturday Walks. The idea is that on the last Saturday of every month, we will meet at the War Memorial opposite St Michael’s Church at the top of Mile End Road and go for a walk! In October we walked for about forty minutes, going along Braiswick Lane, and then turning left down the path to Bergholt Rd, up by the side of the golf course and back along Braiswick Lane. We met lots of other people out for a walk, some with children, some with dogs, and some just enjoying the fresh air. If you would enjoy a bit of leisurely exercise, come along and join us on the Last Saturday Walk.
In November, unfortunately, it will not be possible to lead a walk due to the current lockdown. However, the month after that, the last Saturday coincides with our annual Boxing Day Walk on Saturday 26th December! This will be a bit longer, following the boundaries of Myland (roughly) for about six and a half miles, and it takes about two and a half hours. I’m afraid that there will be no refreshing cuppas and mince pies at the end (or the world famous raffle!), and we will be meeting – all socially distanced at the War Memorial. We hope to see you there at 10am.
