Minutes of the Myland Community Council Planning & Highways Committee Meeting held online on Wednesday 2nd December 2020, 7.30pm.

53-20/21 Election of Chairman
Cllr Robert Johnstone
Proposed: Cllr Clouston Seconded: Cllr Hewitt
Cllr Johnstone was elected Chairman unanimously.
54-20/21 To receive apologies for absence
No apologies were received.
55-20/21 Declarations of Interest
Cllr Hewitt declared a non-pecuniary interest in Item
56-20/21 Have Your Say – Members of the public can comment on any item on the agenda
Cllr Law said she would be meeting Tracey Rudling of Community360 with regard to providing community transport in the area. She said at this point things were at an early stage and this would be a scoping meeting.
57-20/21 Chairman’s Announcements and Correspondence
There were no announcements or correspondence.
58-20/21 To agree the minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 4th November 2020 to be a true record (the minutes to be signed by the Chairman at a future meeting)
The minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 4th November 2020 were agreed as a tru record for signature by the Chairman at a later date.
59-20/21 Planning, Licensing & Highways Applications/Appeals
202434 – 26 Beaumont Close, Colchester CO4 5XE – Demolish existing side ground floor extension build 2 storey side extension

It was agreed to support this application.

202352 – 81 Apprentice Drive, Colchester CO4 5SE – Proposed electronic roller door and support frame to front carport.

It was agreed to support this application.

202425 – Beadles Volkswagen Colchester formerly, Inchcape Volkswagen, Axial Way, Colchester Colchester CO4 5XB – Internal alterations and 136sqm extension to the existing smart repair building to create new motor trade franchise and showroom along with associated external works to parking areas and used display areas.

It was agreed to support this application with an additional comment that MCC did not understand why Highways England had requested a deferral until March 2021.

202276 – 25 Lilianna Road, Colchester CO4 6DL – Proposed loft conversion with new entrance porch.

It was agreed to support this application.

202538 – 21 Gratian Close, Colchester CO4 9EX – Single Storey rear extension

It was agreed to support this application.

202552 – Colchester Sports Hub, Cuckoo Farm Way, Colchester CO4 5JA – Proposed addition of two storage containers for sports equipment.

It was agreed to comment as follows:

MCC understands there may be need for safe storage capacity but is somewhat disappointed, from an aesthetics point of view, that the planning for a new focal attraction didn’t include a more attractive solution, e.g. a sister building to the maintenance shed.

202575 – Flakt Woods Ltd, Flakt Woods, Axial Way, Colchester CO4 5ZD – New enclosure to loading bay.
It was agreed to support this application.

It was agreed that the next meeting would be held online on Wednesday 6th January 2021 at 7.30pm.

The meeting closed at 8.36pm.
