The official Remembrance Sunday Services at War Memorials have been cancelled or curtailed this year, due to the COVID-19 situation, for the first time in 100 years. However although Myland Community Council is not directly involved in organising these events they have always lain a wreath on behalf of the Council.
On Sunday 8th November 2020, in order to mark this solemn occasion and in line with COVID Regulations, the two most senior office holders of Myland Community Council laid wreaths on behalf of Myland Community Council at both our memorials.
Council Chairman Cllr John Stewart laid a wreath at the Severalls Memorial Garden, currently under construction at Kingswood Heath Estate. The memorial commemorates staff members at Severalls Hospital who gave their lives in The Great War 1914 – 1918.
Council Vice-Chairman Cllr Pete Hewitt laid the wreath at the main War Memorial in Nayland Road.
